Shifting from scarcity to abundance mindset in business
This morning I woke up reading a message from my mom telling me that there is going to be a civil war going on, and that she needs to prepare for food supplies
And that I have to increase the amount of money I normally send to her so that my family can survive
Panic rushed over me. On one hand, I was worried about my brother and my mom whose lives could potentially be in jeopardy because of the civil war going on in Myanmar. But also another part of me clenched for the money I needed to pay.
I had saved up a year's worth of savings so I could fully devote myself to building my business, but if I keep giving it away to my family at this rate, I feared I may run out of money and that I had to return to a soul-sucking 9-5 job…
I felt scarcity gripping at my bones
It has been infecting my lineage, since the time of my ancestors,
And now it grasped me like a plague, about to suck my earthly nutrients
This is a memoir I wrote not long ago, in account of my experience with scarcity, the shadow counterpart of abundance
The latter which is a totally different energy I experience within my business– where creative ideas shower over me daily, like rose petals bestowed over a bride,
Without a rush for money to marry me as I take time warming up my audience
~
Through this experience of duality, I have seen massive differences of how it is like to build a business from scarcity vs abundance
With scarcity, you find yourself grasping for money, needing people to jump into your offers asap, and thereby not showing up in overflow and abundance.
Just like how I felt in that memoir above, with worry and anxiety about what the future entails.
On the other hand, when you are in the energy of abundance, you are magnetic.
You know you are an abundant being– which means, you have even more to give than what people would pay you for. And so with that confidence, you sell to your audience, in overflow and divine nonchalance.
I know these cases because I have experienced both.
I know how you can still be operating in scarcity even if you are bringing in tens of thousands of dollars in business each month– I have helped clients with that in the past
And I know that you can be in the energy of abundance, even if you haven’t opened up your offers yet (which I feel is my current scenario right now).
And of course I’m still in the process of building a financially abundant business that sustains me+my family, yet I have seen massive shifts within the structure and client-attraction approach within my business, through shifting from a scarcity to abundance mindset.
So in this post, I want to share with you 3 ways of how I have done it, and how you can shift from a scarcity to abundance mindset in your business as well.
Source your source of abundance beyond money
What if the invention of money in its numerical format limits us?
What if we’ve been programmed to believe that our worth, our energy, our power, our ability is associated with the number you have in your bank account?
I’m not saying this as a conspiracy theory to invoke fear on you,
but simply because a lot of the times, we let the number in the bank account make us feel restricted, confined, and play small in what you can do
For example, you may be letting the number dictate how much you are able to go all in and share extraordinarily, magnetic content with your business. You may be letting the number dictate how prolific of an artist/a content creator you can be and how unapologetically you show up…
But I say with love that all of that is B.S.
Our power of what we can do can never be defined by money. Yes, it may give us more time and space for us to show up better in business. However, if we keep blaming our financial situation for the reason why we can’t step into our soul potential, we will keep waiting for someone else/something else (like money) outside of you to change for you.
And our attachment/association of our identity with money is the reason why some people who win lottery quickly go back to being broke because they haven’t derived their power outside of money yet. Which means even though the bank account expands, they turn it back down to small because the bank account, to them, is associated with their identity (which is small).
So if you are willing to find true abundance my love, ask where you are deriving your sense of abundance from?
As you reflect, you will see the limitations (if any) that have been holding you back from emanating your true soul creative potential
Keep a running list of your soul assets
You may know this definition already but if you haven’t, here is what the word means
Assets = a useful or a valuable thing owned by a person or a company
Although knowing how much you own in external assets (such as stocks, real estate, etc.) can be helpful, what I find to be even more valuable are the soul assets– i.e. the gifts that your soul can bring value to others and therein receive a value exchange in return
For me, as an example, I knew I have gifts to support entrepreneurs but I was not confident in them at first (which led to feeling scarcity in my business). Only after precisely extracting+sharpening them, instead of trying to copy what other coaches do, I was able to step into confidence, thus abundance.
This is the reason why self-awareness is so key in business. Because the more you know your unique traits, personality, and soul gifts, the more you can hone in on them and bring value to people through them (therein expanding your income)
I will be sharing how you can uncover these invaluable soul gifts, specifically content creation gifts within your business, in my upcoming program soon ;)
Give in abundance to receive abundance
Nature shows us that God/the Creator has designed everything to be in harmony.
You can look at the trees: they abundantly give away their seeds, yet gets replenished by the sun and the rain without trying
None of nature is holding on tight to their belongings and grappling in scarcity. And because of that, their lifeforce flows through them in effortlessness
The same principle rules in business.
When we generously serve our audience in abundance even before they click a single ‘pay’ button, people also naturally want more of what we have.
Lots of business strategies and tactics may make you think otherwise– that all you need to do is write a single one-liner, ‘golden secret’ copy and that hundreds of people are going to flock into your offers
But I believe otherwise, because honestly, that I-have-a-secret-if-you-just-pay-me strategy is dying.
At least for me, and most of soul-connected clients/people I know,
Instead what I believe to be a timeless marketing strategy that works over and over is providing value in abundance. (That doesn’t mean you have to show up everyday and burn yourself out to the ground) but really, helping people see shifts in their lives even before they pay a single dime
Because doing that itself builds authority, trust, and connection,
While also helping us business owners experience the energy of abundance ourselves– both before people buy + after people buy. Where you feel good in your heart, and let that be the pillar of client-attraction strategy in your business.
For it is the pillar of foundation that sets you up for your soul business that is also abundant within.
Love,
CM
